Dr. Teresa Coelho to deliver guest lecture at the Dublin Neuroscience Conference

Dr. Teresa Coelho, Unidade Clinica de Paramiloidose Hospital Geral de Santo António, Porto, Portugal, will deliver a guest lecture at the Dublin Neuroscience Conference at Beaumont Hospital on Friday, February 9th 2018. Dr. Coelho will speak on “An Overview of Transthyretin Familial Amyloid Polyneuropathy (TTR-FAP) – Diagnosis to Treatment” and her lecture will commence at 08.45

In 1987  Dr. Hugh Staunton reported 7 cases of hereditary amyloid polyneuropathy in Donegal. In 1995 Prof. Mary Reilly published a clinical, genetic and epidemiological study of familial amyloid polyneuropathy ( TTR ala 60) in Northwest Ireland. Most of the impacted families could be traced back to Conal Gulban  ( source of Tir Conaill , Gaelic name for Donegal).” Dr Coelho will present “An Overview of TTR-FAP – from Diagnosis to Treatment: An Irish Perspective.
